About Us

Alaska Ice Guides is based in Wasilla Alaska and offers trips within a short drive of the Anchorage area. We are primarily a wintertime operation specializing in climbing Alaska’s frozen waterfalls. Obviously, mother nature dictates our season, but generally our ice season is from early December until the end of March. Spring and Fall rock climbing trips and courses are also available on a limited basis.

We have years of experience climbing and guiding throughout the US. We are based in Alaska simply due to the abundant ice climbing opportunities. The world-famous Valdez area is known for its long difficult climbs, but the Anchorage area has something for all abilities.

Alaska Ice Guides is also able to offer private or group courses in climbing efficiency, rock/snow/ice anchors, basic mountaineering, crevasse rescue, and climber self-rescue.

Please contact us if there is something specific you are looking for. We also offer trips in the Valdez area along with the trips approximately two hours south of Fairbanks. Please reach out to us about pricing as these areas don’t follow our listed price schedule.
